Colour trends come and go.. it is not necessary to go with a trend. I’m an advocate of personal tastes so who needs to follow a trend anyway…
The colour schemes are am focusing on this blog are White, Black and Sunshine Yellow
White is white you may say, but there are so many shades of white… and these tonal qualities make a huge difference to the effect or feel in the room. It is definitely worth bringing home a few chosen paint swatches and painting them on the wall and living with the colour for a few day before making that final decision. White is an ideal base colour for creating a fresh and light filled space. Colour accents can be introduced as much or as little to your personal taste, and on the plus side when you get bored you can simply change the accent colour and hey presto you have a new look.
Grey is increasingly featured in the style pages. It is a style that requires the artful balance of matt, high-gloss and textured surfaces to ensure a sophisticated and not sombre arrangement. Not to your taste… then add flashes of a strong colour such as red, orange or yellow.
Spring has sprung, and sunshine yellow is one of my favourite colours as it fills me with positive thoughts, to lift my spirits, and dream of the joys of summer holidays to come. Walls in a subtle yellow tint will instantly brighten any room or try bright accents to lift a scheme. Yellow is the perfect partner for white and black, or all three in unison.
